Happy Feet S.W.A.T Drill - 34

Oh my goodness talk about a fun challange this week over at http://swatscrapwarriorsadvancedtraining.blogspot.com/. It's all about Happy Feet. I will say though I don't like showing my feet in photos. I will also admit I've never taken photos of just fee to scrapbook, however, a few months back I took a photo of my daughter playing dress up and jusdt loved how had on her little heels.  It was just so sweet. Something about baby feet and little girls toes peeking out is just too cute.

When I first saw this paper I knew EXACTLY what photos I was going to use. Let's just say I HAD to have this paper when I saw it. It's from Imaginisce and it's called Little Princess. I love the purple and the teal combo. I will also say I love the fun little patterned paper.

The fun little rhinestones are from Queen & CO. The twinkle toes was cust on the cricut. The other paper is a purple glittler from Pow and Bazzill.

I hope you enjoy and hope to see your project over at S.W.A.T

Have a fun!!!

S.W.A.T. Drill #33

-
Welcome to Drill #33 fro S.W.AT. - http://swatscrapwarriorsadvancedtraining.blogspot.com/. This weeks challenge is to make a layout using a SELFIE.

To me it's actually funny because most people that know me know I don't own a cell phone and/or really am not into the whole Selfie thing. I can honestly say this is probably the 2nd "selfie" I've taking. I thought it would be a little fun to play around hence Selfie Fun.

Oh and trust me I had to look up the meaning of Selfie and see if I could get away with making it from a regular digital camera.

I was also personally challenged by a friend to use these fun little Queen and Company wood venners (the dress, butterfly, and purse).  Ok so I made it fun. I added a few little arrows and a few flowers to just add to the page. I used the paper from Doodlebug. The stickers are also from Queen and Company.

Hope you enjoy and can't wait to see what you all create for your Selfie page.

S.W.A.T DRILL #32

So last week I took a fun call from Queen & Co. at the Great Lakes Mega Meet. The class was called Washi Wonderland. Let's just say I have my FAIR share of Washi tape. My daughter who is 5 has just about as many as I do. (Shhhh don't tell her I borrow hers some times).

The class was learning how to make a fun layout with Washi tape. I normally will add it for a little twist but I will say I also took the class to see what else I could do with WASHI tape. Well let's just say it fit perfectly with this weeks drill over at http://swatscrapwarriorsadvancedtraining.blogspot.com/. This week's challenge was to make our OWN flowers. NO store bought flowers here. I used stripes of Washi tape folded them in half and then made loops and from the loops made flowers.

The mat on for the photo is washi tape, the borders at the top is washi tape, and the circles in the middle also washi tape. The flowers have a fun brad in the left and a fun Queen &Co. flair flat back button on the center of the other. I added some Queen &Co. bling and the fun new sticker.

I love all the fun colors of the washi tape so I wanted to keep my photo neutral so I used a black and white photo.

Don't forget to make a layout, card or canvas making your own flowers and link them up over at S.W.A.T.

Hope you enjoy.

S.W.A.T - DRILL #31 Color

post signature

So this week's challenge/drill over at http://swatscrapwarriorsadvancedtraining.blogspot.com/ is to follow this color combo:

Might I just say I think this color combo is so fun. I used Bazzill pearl paper for my pink and blue.
I used just a basic black 12x12 paper for the 'back' ground.

I recently was able to buy a new TOOL - those that know me know how much I adore my Cricut. I mean adore my Cricut machines. Recently they came out with a new machine called the Cricut Explore - well yes I had to have it. I love this machine - it will take an SVG file and cut it cuts so nice and smooth. I'm still "learning" my machine but from what I've found/done I think it will be a new favorite.

I wanted to showcase my recent accomplishment I did. I ran - I mean walked my first 5k. It was a Martian marathon in MI - my daughter and hubby both ran too so I figured why not. While I didn't finish as fast as my hubby did (in under 24 minutes) I did it under an hour and I finished it!!! I thought this color combo was perfect match for this photo.

I used the Explore to cut out the chevrons from the pink paper, title, and the shoes. Wow talk about small and detailed cuts. I added a few sequins, enamel dots, and a fun little wood veneer.

Thanks for joining us today at S.W.A.T!!!

EEEEKKKKKK ---- Special Guesst Designer for My Creative Time

So a few months back the ever so wonderful Emma from http://www.creativetimeforme.com/ was hosting a DT call. I submitted several projects for her DT call using her wonderful stamps, and dies. I was not selected as a DT member but she did ask me to be a guest DT member. I was beyond thrilled that I was asked to be a guest DT. I have loved and supported Emma since she started her wonderful stamps. I have grown my collection of her stamps to an undisclosed number!!! I will say though they are some of my all time favorites. I absolutely love her stamps, dies and her EXCELLENT customer service.

This past week it was Administrative Professionals day and at the school where I recently started working the secretaries have gone  above and beyond. So I thought I would make this fun little card for them to thank them for all they do and have done for me and my family.

I used some of my favorite paper collections and paired it w/ one of my favorite stamps from Emma.
The paper is Doodlebug Springtime collection.

The stamps are from the Once Upon a time. Let me tell you I love the cute little "type" set - very simple but yet it makes fun statement. I added a little twine, and a few little sequins and had this fun little card.

OH I must say too - I couldn't just make those cards so I wanted to make a few more using one of my GO to stamps for quick and easy 3x3 cards. I love the cute little Small talk "frame" and made a few different cards with the sweet Birthday Buddies stamp set. I love the little Owl. I changed the sentiments and will give this little "set" to my daughter's teacher as a small token of my appreciation.

I hope you enjoy these sweet card and wanted to THANK EMMA  for allowing me to be a guest designer and showcase your products.

post signature
Welcome to another drill/challenge over at http://swatscrapwarriorsadvancedtraining.blogspot.com/. Oh and it's a fun one let me just tell you. While it suppose to be spring time it sure doesn't feel that way here in MI. We had 3" + of snow the other day setting the all time snowest season. So lets reel back in spring with a fun challenge. For this weeks challenge it is to create a layout using F.L.O.W.E.R
You will need to have a items starting with each letter of the word. Each item you list, needs to represent a different part of your layout.
(For example, you can't use white ribbon then use White for W & Ribbon for R.)

So without further ado here is my layout and my F L O W E R!!!

I used one of my new FAVORITE and I mean FAVORITE paper lines by Teresa Collins Daily Stories.

F - Fuchsia color paper (heart paper), Favorite paper
L - Lined paper /journal card
O - Overlay on photo
W - Wooden Vennar
E - Epoxy dots
R - Red Chalk

I hope you enjoy this challenge and play along with us.

April Drill #29 S.W.A.T

So for this week's challenge over at http://swatscrapwarriorsadvancedtraining.blogspot.com/ is to  play BINGO. I will say this challenge was so much fun.

First I determined which way I wanted to play. So then once I figured out what row I just started playing around and finally came up with this fun layout.

This is one of my favorite photos of my husband and I. It was taken a few months ago - in October before it was really cold here in MI. I will say I am in LOVE and I mean LOVE with this paper from Teresa Collins. It is called Daily Stories. (I will admit I used almost every single sheet in this collection on other projects).

I love the soft pink/coral and the gray.

I played B.I.N.G.O by completed the first vertical line -
Buttons -
Brads -
Bling
Blue
Bow (I cheated I know I put a bow in my buttons)

It was so much fun and I hope you join us over at S.W.A.T and play along.

Thanks for stoppin

Paper Secrets Sketch Challenge - LUCKY

I love a good challenge sketch layout and this site: http://paper-secrets.blogspot.com/2014/03/march-15th-sketch-challenge-lucky.html is no different. They have fantastic challenges and so much fun. This challenge was to use this Sketch:

There is a twist though - you have to use the word LUCKY in your challenge.

I will sometimes just use a sketch as a base and build from it sometimes I like to follow the sketch. Well as you can see this time I followed the sketch and made a few small changes.

Here are my items for LUCKY:
L - Lined patterned paper - by Imaginsice
U - Uni ball gel pen
C - Chalk
K- Kid (yes she's my kiddo).
Y- Yellow Cardstock

I used the fun collection from Imaginisce Welcome Spring.  I just loved this paper and these sweet little bunnies are adorable. I actually fussy cutted a set of bunnies and put some foam dots behind them for more dimension.

Hope you enjoy  ~

Drill #28 S.W.A.T

So this weeks sketch over at http://swatscrapwarriorsadvancedtraining.blogspot.com/ was no twist just this sketch.

For those that know me know I love sketches and using them as a base line. I sometimes will take an element, the design and other times I'll just "scraplift" it. This time I used some of the elements, and the design. I started out with the base part of the sketch - I looked at my papers and then I picked a photo. This photo happens to be of my little girl who was just a few months old here and was having her 1st Easter photo done. I just love the colors of the paper and the photo. On the flip side there was some slight damage on the photo so I had to "cover" it up.

I used the Echo Park Mini kit - Hippity Hoppy. I just loved these adorable little bunnies when I saw this paper. I knew I had to have it. The sentiments are actually a mix of Echo Park lines. (That's another great thing about Echo Park - most of the papers/stickers coordinate with each other).

I used some Bazzill - pearl paper for the back ground, then I layered some of the Echo Park and then some more Bazzill paper.

I love banners and use them allot on my projects. I actually took one of the journal blocks - that came w/ the paper and cut apart the EASTER banner. It already had little dots for that looked like stitching so I didn't add any twine but I did add some of my favorite pieces of bling from Queen & Co.

Hope you enjoy my layout and hope to see you over at S.W.AT. for this months challenges.

S.W.A.T Drill #27 - Mixed Media

This week's project over at http://swatscrapwarriorsadvancedtraining.blogspot.com/ was to create layout our mixed media project. OK I will admit I struggle with mixed media. While I love the way it looks I've not ever really done lots of mixed media canvas projects.

So I really put forth the effort to create a fun little mixed media canvas. I started knowing I wanted to incorporate this cute little lady - "Betty". Yes she's from the Julie Nutting doll stamps - and she's brand NEW.  For the paper I used Echo Park - Sweet Girl collection. I had some extra just laying around and thought it would be perfect for what I wanted to do.

I first painted the 8 1/2 x 11 canvas pink/ and white pearl. Then I applied a thin layer of mod podge and added the torn paper on top.

For the Doll I used the Prima Tags (they fit these dolls perfectly). I also found that once I stamped the doll - I then keep her where she is and trace around the stamp. That way I can then cut her out.
I paper pieced her using the Sweet Girl collection.

The fun little hearts are wood veneers - from Cosmo Cricket charms. I also used some Studio Calico wood hearts. I colored them with Ink- a Gold from Viva Decor. I love love love this product. It's a bee's wax based but it's just so fun to smear it on.

The saying is from the DCWV templates - I was totally in awwww when I found these the other day. I love the saying, " Be You" and thought it would be perfect. I used some gold Ferro from Viva Decor and smeared the paste on using a palette knife.

I was having so much fun decorating this piece I couldn't stop. I added a few little arrows also using the Ferro. I then created a few small flowers and added them to the stash of flowers I had on hand. I added a few enamel dots, a couple of pins and of course some bling.

I hope you enjoy and hope you play along with us over at http://swatscrapwarriorsadvancedtraining.blogspot.com/.

Happy Scrappin'

S.W.A.T - DRILL #26 LOVE...

-

I recently was asked to join a different design team -since I have been following along and played along a few times I felt honored to be asked to join. I am now a member of http://swatscrapwarriorsadvancedtraining.blogspot.com/ design team (AKA S.W.A.T). I'm telling you these ladies are extremely talented and I'm truly thankful for this door opening to be apart of a great design team.

I recently made this cute little fun tag using the Prima Doll stamps and also the Prima tags. They were made to be used with the fun little dolls. I just love them. On this project I used a newer product called Ferro - which is similar to Gesso but it's metallic. I loved how easy it was to use this product and also the pretty shimmer it has. I used the TH heart stencil for the back ground and then also used some fun paper from Fancy Pants.

For my scrapbook layout I used Fancy Pants Be LOVED paper line I  cut a "postage" stamp using my cricut machine. Then I added the fun little hearts and some wood hearts and pin. The adorable little tickets, and doodled hearts are out of the Ephemera Pack by Fancy Pants. I am in love with the fun little pins. I have a huge collection in my stash that I am just now using. I love them.

I again applied some Ferro hearts to the corner and used a couple little stickers to add the date and saying.

I hope you enjoy and a big shout out to the S.W.A.T team for accepting me to be apart of this amazing group.

Happy Scrappin'
